Halloween Kills is the follow up film to "Halloween" which came out back in 2018. The 2018 version was a direct sequel to the original 1978 film. This film basically takes place on the same Halloween night of 2018, where Laurie Strode and her family are all at the hospital following their epic battle with Michael Myers or "The Shape". The film also focuses on a group of survivors from the 1978 film who after learning Michael Myers is still alive, decide to hunt him down.
I will start off by saying that I am a huge Michael Myers fan! He's always been my favorite stalker/killer of the Big 3, which includes Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger. I just always felt he was more of a real person vs the other two. Also the original Halloween was probably the first Horror Film I've ever seen. I enjoyed the 2018 version of Halloween and it is one of my favorite Halloween films. So naturally I was extremely excited for Halloween Kills.
I felt this film was unfortunately a bit lackluster. I had many expectations going into the film since the 2018 film was so great. This film just felt a little messy and all over the place. It also felt like a filler movie for the next film which will be "Halloween Ends". I was also a little disappointed that Laurie Strode barely did anything in this film. She pretty much is in the Hospital the whole film while a bunch of new faces, including her daughter and granddaughter, are the ones going after Myers. Again, it just felt like a set up film for me. Overall I did enjoy it, but it just wasn't as good as I was expecting.
