Jason's Review of Renfield 2023 ★★½

Unfortunately, this was Violent Night all over again for me. Meaning it’s a movie I was super stoked for, it’s got a great premise, it’s perfectly cast, everything on screen seems like I should be having a great time, but I’m just…not. Something was missing. 🤷‍♂️

Also like Violent Night, though, I definitely didn’t hate it, and it’s got some great scenes. Both are films I can see revisiting and possibly enjoying more, but pretty sure I’ll never love it.

Cage is a great Dracula, but I will say that for me Awkwafina actually gave the most enjoyable performance!
