A stunningly well-directed and genuinely, truly disturbing horror film. And I can’t say this enough: it is brilliantly acted by Mia Goth. She deserves absolutely every award she’d be eligible for. I love X, and this works wonderfully well as a prequel to it, but amazingly it’s also an entire different kind of film, I’d even classify it as a totally different subgenre. X is a blast, but this…this is stunning. This is art.
