Honestly, I think what they did here was pretty brilliant. Many may not appreciate it now, but like other slasher franchise outliers that were unloved in their day but appreciated now for thinking outside the box (think A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge, Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, and especially Halloween III: Season of the Witch), I think it will be.
