After being thoroughly nonplussed by the lackluster Prey last night, this was more like it! The story is nothing special and the central villain is totally forgettable, but the main characters are very likable and the film actually does some decent world building that sets it apart from the glut of vampire movies somewhat. Very much in the vein (ha!) of mainstream ‘80s classics like Fright Night and The Lost Boys (which gets a very fun specific reference) with the gore and action of From Dusk Till Dawn and Blade. I’d totally be down for a franchise, and hopefully more Snoop in future installments!
